No, but it would explain my Grandmother's list of questions and subsequent altered behavior a few months ago. (i.e. "do you believe in God?", "are you ever ever planning on trying to be reinstated?") My negative answers to these and other like questions has resulted in less communication with my JW family.....Curious.

Would the WTS torture the "apostates" if they could?
by greendawn indo you think the wts would physically torture and even execute "apostates" if we all lived in a context that allowed them to do so?
much as the catholic church did in the middle ages when they had the opportunity to treat their dissenters as they wished.
already the way the gb wants apopstates treated is as vicious as can be, manifests a deeply seated maliciousness and animosity and is calculated to hurt as much as possible under the present day circumstances.

I want to know why EVERYBODY has to ride my ass on the freeway!!!!! I keep foolishly thinking that Karma will throw me a bone because I make a concious effort to be polite and not try to crawl into the back seat of the person driving in front of me. It's not that I drive like Gramps on a Sunday either, I try to keep up with traffic and go at least 5-10 mph over the limit. WTF????!!!!! I wish I had a monkey in the back of my truck that would fling poo at anyone who got within 3 car lengths of my rear bumper. One of these days I'm going to snap and lock up the brakes and hope for the best.
Oh Yeah, hubert, I hate snow too.

I would rather have a frozen bath towel drug through my urethra than EVER set foot in another Kingdom Hall. My JW years were the absolute worst of my life. It has taken 14 years to rebuild myself and undo the damage. People who shun others for no other reason than a difference of opinion are evil, PERIOD. No thanks, you can have it.

WHAT IS WRONG WITH THE HUMAN RACE?!
by Mary ini watched dr. phil yesterday, where they were highlighting the disappearance of natalee holloway who disappeared in aruba over 5 months ago, and amy bradley who vanished from a cruise ship 7 years ago.
i always assumed that these girls were raped and then murdered and they very likely could be, but the program highlighted the sex-slave trade that is growing in leaps and bounds all over the world.
i sat there and listened in shock as one guy revealed what happens to some of these girls during snuff movies.

Consider The Crusades, The Spanish Inquisition, The Nazi movement, Sarajevo, that rediculous shit in Rwanda, just to name a few. Sadly, savagness and brutality are simply human nature. I believe humans will always attempt to persecute and wipe out things that scare them or that they don't understand.

Fruits of the Spirit
by Ticker ini had a discussion today with a witnesse and was directing her toword this site and the qoutes site.
i was thinking though of how the organization used to continually stress the developing of the fruitage of the spirit, i then was reading a book entitled "leaving the fold".
an excellent book written by a doctor who delves into the psychological aspects of cults and religions not necessarilly pointed at just jw's but all such groups.

How many JWs do you know that practice the true meanings of:
Love-(yeah right, shunning, judging, and ruthless gossip are soooo loving)
Joy-(most JWs I know are miserable, anxious, and fearful. My Elder dad has to take anti-depressants to keep him from killing himself).
Peace- (How much turmoil is churned up within families of believers and non-believers?)
Long suffering- (Give me a break.)
Kindness- (Again, back to the shunning, judging, and gossip thing)
Goodness- (Mmmmm Hmmmm. by their standards of course).
Faith -(Okay, they got me on this one.)
Mildness- (There is nothing mild about a group of people who work so hard to set themselves apart from the rest of the world.)
Self control- (one word: Pedophilia).
